Having earned a degree in statistics does not necessarily lead to jobs with statistician profiles
Most statistician jobs require no fewer qualifications a master’s degree in mathematics of statistics.
Opportunities are likely to continue to exist for people with statistician degrees, despite the decline in growth expectations
Statistical analyst Care Overview:

Statistics essentially involves putting mathematics to scientific use in the form of data comparison, analysis, and presentation. Statisticians use this knowledge to design, collect, and interpret them the knowledge of the surrounding experiments in many and diverse fields of industry. These are all available from the fields of economics, medicine, psychology, biology, public health and other sports. Military considerations take statistical procedures for approval of certain strategies and sanctions.
Statisticians use sampling techniques to determine the relative size of the population and Demographics. This process is done by surveying large portions of soil. They determine the size of the group, the reason for carrying these samples and samples outside. Stylizing This includes instructions and questions used in the surveys. Finally, statisticians In summary, shake off, and to interpret the resultant data.
Statisticians are also heavily involved in the development of products, and quality factors. Often the need for the automobile, pharmaceutical, or computer software companies in trial testing and product evaluation. Apart from the development, statisticians are also involved with the porch, asset, liability, and risk management, and the Departments of marketing firms.
Most government organizations and agencies hire statisticians to evaluate population, demographic, and economic measures. In many other environmental, scientific, and agricultural agencies to hire statisticians for similar type of work in their respective fields. Even national defense organizations hire statisticians to assess the weapons and strategy effectiveness.

Place for Statistician Jobs

There is a huge place for statistician jobs in all over the world. Think back to when you last heard the unemployment rate. Though the news was likely concerning, you probably didn’t consider all the work that went into producing that statistic. Yet the behind-the-scenes analysis that produces usable statistics is vital to making crucial decisions in the private and public sectors. And the people who conduct it—statisticians—are in high demand.

Crunching numbers may not sound like the stuff of dream jobs, but industries across the board need statisticians to analyze the ocean of data that technology has put at our fingertips. “The Internet and more sophisticated computers have allowed us to collect and organize so much data that we’ve outpaced our vision for what to do with it,” says Sally Morton, president of the
American Statistical Association (ASA).

Because of the availability of data and the ease with which it can be collected, companies are eager to put it to good use. “You hear about evidence-based medicine and science-based policy,” says Alicia Carriquiry, director of graduate studies at Iowa State University’s statistics department. “Those things require data collection and interpretation, and statisticians can do that.”

Companies are so bent on hiring people who can add it all up that the current pipeline for statisticians can’t meet the demand. “We know based on data from the National Science Foundation that hiring needs are bigger than the number of graduates we’re turning out,” says Morton. Echoing this shortage, Carriquiry says her graduates “have their pick of jobs, with typically two or three offers, even in this pathetic economy.”

The Science of Statistics
Statisticians does more than just churn out unemployment numbers. They design research, formulate results, and turn those results into meaningful information that non-statisticians can use. Statistics also predict outcomes using data from the past. Almost every industry employs data analysts—from marketing to environmental science—and the work, though not always visible, has a big impact. The following are a few industries that have seen an increased need for statisticians: ]

1.  Government
The government is one of the largest employers of statisticians, with a need to fill a variety of functions, from studying crime patterns at The Department of Justice to analyzing traffic congestion at The Department of Transportation. The U.S. Census Bureau will also need statisticians to turn out and analyze the nation’s demographics for the 2010 Census. The information will affect policies in areas, such as education and infrastructure, and determine how many representatives each state sends to the House of Representatives.

2.    Pharmaceuticals/Healthcare
As the pharmaceutical industry grows, so does the need for statisticians to design clinical trials, collect information about drugs’ effects, and test thousands of chemical compounds to find which ones cure which ailments. Bioinformatics, which uses biological data, such as gene sequences to solve medical problems, is another growing area in healthcare that needs statisticians.

3.    Manufacturing
Here statisticians work in quality control and design. Green energy manufacturing is especially important. “If you want to design a wind turbine, you need to figure out what direction it should be pointing in and how long the rotors should be,” says Carriquiry. “A statistician can predict where the wind is going to come from and what strength it is going to have using information from the past.”

4.    Business
In today’s frugal climate, statisticians play an important role because they can help businesses predict which products will be successful and what marketing will work. They can also act as actuaries, determining and managing risk for financial services and insurance companies.

Interfaces of SPSS

Interfaces of SPSS:
More than one way exists for you to command SPSS to do your bidding. And you don’t have to choose one and stick with it — you can perform tasks using whichever of the four interfaces you prefer. You can use any of the four approaches to perform any of the SPSS functions, but which one is best for you depend, to an extent, on the task to be performed and which interface you prefer.
GUI (graphic user interface): SPSS has a windowing interface and commands can be issued by the mouse through menu selections that cause dialog boxes to appear. This is a fill-in-the-blanks approach to statistical analysis that guides you through the process of making choices and selecting values. The advantage of the GUI approach is that, at each step, SPSS will make sure that you enter everything necessary before proceeding to the next step. This is the preferred interface for those just starting out — and if you don’t do much with SPSS, this may be the only interface you ever use.

Syntax: This is the internal language used to command actions from SPSS. It was known as the command syntax of SPSS, hence its name. It is often referred to as the command language. You can write Syntax a command to directly command SPSS to do anything it is capable of doing. In fact, when you use menu and dialog box selections to command SPSS, you are actually generating Syntax commands internally that do your bidding. That is, the GUI is nothing more than the front end of a Syntax command-writing utility. Writing (and saving) command language programs are a good way to store processes that you expect to repeat. You can even grab a copy of the Syntax commands generated by the GUI and save them to be repeated later.

Python: This is a general-purpose language that has a collection of SPSS modules written for it, making it possible to write programs that work inside SPSS. It can be run with the Syntax language to command SPSS to perform statistical functions. One advantage of using Python is the fact that it is a modern language and gives you the power and convenience that come with languages today, including the ability to construct a more readable program. In addition, because it’s a general-purpose language, you can read and write data from other applications and from other files.

Scripts: The items that SPSS calls scripts are actually programs written in BASIC. This language is simple and many people are familiar with it. Also, a BASIC program can be written as an autoscript — a script that executes automatically when SPSS produces certain output.
